Narrative
ORANGEBURG CO., SC – One person died early Friday morning after their vehicle collided with a semi-truck along the interstate near Bowman.
The incident happened around 4:09 a.m. on the westbound side of I-26 at mile marker 167, which is just north of the junction with I-95 and south of Horsecreek Apiaries and Honey Farm.
The preliminary investigation indicates that a westbound 2014 Chevrolet Impala struck the rear of a westbound 2007 Mac truck.
Medics transported the driver of the Impala to a local hospital, where he later died. Authorities have not yet released the name of the deceased.
No other injuries have been reported in connection to the accident.
