Narrative
WESTMINSTER, SC – A 47-year-old man died on Tuesday when a vehicle struck the rear of his moped along a highway in south Oconee County.
The collision occurred around 6 p.m. on the southbound side of US-123 near Burton Road on the south-western outskirts of Westminster.
Police say that a 2015 Kia sedan rear-ended the victim’s moped while both vehicles were southbound on the highway. It’s unclear what caused the driver of the sedan to strike the moped.
The collision killed the moped driver at the scene. Authorities identified him as Richard Bryan White.
The driver of the sedan did not sustain injuries in the crash.
