Narrative
ANDERSON, SC – One person died late Saturday morning along a major roadway on the western outskirts of Anderson.
The incident happened just before noon near the intersection of Dobbins Bridge Road and Sugar Pine Road, which is east of Fivemile Creek and north of Rise & Shine Adult Daycare.
Police say that for unknown reasons, the driver of an eastbound 2001 BMW sedan lost control of their vehicle, left the roadway, and struck a tree. The vehicle then caught fire, killing the driver at the scene of the accident.
Authorities have not yet released the name of the victim.
A full investigation is underway.
