Narrative
HARTSVILLE, SC – One person died, and another sustained injuries Friday when two vehicles collided at a busy intersection in Hartsville.
The incident happened around 3:44 p.m. on SC-152 near US-15, which is just southeast of Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center.
Police say that a westbound 2018 Toyota Highlander struck an eastbound 2003 Buick LeSabre as the driver of the latter vehicle turned left from SC-151 onto US-15.
Medics airlifted a passenger from the Buick to the hospital, where they died. Authorities have not yet identified this victim.
The driver of the Buick also went to the hospital, though the severity of their injuries is unclear at this time.
The driver of the Toyota was unhurt.
