Narrative
WESTMINSTER, SC – A 58-year-old road construction worker died on Wednesday when a dump truck struck him in a work zone in Westminster.
The incident happened around 9 a.m. in a construction zone on Highway 11 near Fire Station Road, which is just southeast of the South Union Fire Department – Ononee County Station 15.
Police say the King Asphalt dump truck hit the worker while backing up on the highway.
Authorities identified the victim as Joe Milton Bridges, Jr.
