Narrative

ORANGEBURG CO., SC – A pickup truck struck and killed a pedestrian along the highway in Orangeburg County on Friday.

Police say that just after 4:30 a.m., a northbound Ford F-450 hit a pedestrian on US-321 near Kaufman Trail.

Authorities have not yet identified the victim, nor have they stated where in the roadway they were walking at the time of the collision.

The driver of the pickup truck, who was not hurt, remained at the scene to render aid and speak with authorities.

A full investigation is underway.
