Narrative
BOONE, SC – Police are investigating an auto versus pedestrian crash that critically injured a child Wednesday in central Watauga County.
The incident happened just before 7:30 p.m. on Blowing Rock Road near Durham Park, which is just east of Appalachian State University.
Police say that a parent and child were crossing the intersection when a vehicle struck them. Medics transported the child to Wake Forest Baptist Hospital with serious injuries.
It’s unclear if the parent sustained injuries in the crash. It’s also unclear if the driver involved in the accident stopped to render aid and speak with police.
